Samantha Watson to Make Collegiate Debut at Reveille InvitationalBy Adam Kopet Samantha Watson will make her collegiate debut Saturday at the Reveille Invitational, according to a Texas A&M meet preview. Watson will be running for the first time in a Texas A&M uniform, competing in the 1,000 meters on her new home track. Sophomore teammate Jazmine Fray, who won this race in 2016, will also be in the race. Fray went on to set the collegiate indoor 800-meter record. Watson joined the Texas A&M program after a successful prep career at Rush-Henrietta NY. She ran a personal-best 2:00.65 for 800 meters over the summer in Bellinzona, Switzerland. That puts her #3 on the all-time high school list. In addition to running fast times, Watson also finished sixth at the USATF Outdoor Championships in June, running 2:00.99 in the final. More news |
